PacStar Announces Completion of Common Criteria Evaluation for PacStar 451 with Cisco ASAv
Extending PacStar’s Leadership in Tactical Networking and Classified Wireless, Completion Makes PacStar 451 Eligible for Use in Classified Networking Solutions

Portland, OR – Feb. 12, 2019 – PacStar today announced the completion of common criteria testing for its PacStar 451 rugged, small form factor server with Cisco Adaptive Security Virtual Appliance (ASAv). The combined technologies power PacStar’s family of commercial classified networking solutions, including PacStar Secure Wireless Command Post – a fully integrated, expeditionary communications solution providing two layers of encryption, using commercial technologies, eligible for use in transmitting classified information over wireless networks. PacStar will demonstrate the solution at AFCEA West 2019, which takes place February 13-15, 2019 in San Diego, CA.

The combination of PacStar 451 with Cisco ASAv results in a rugged, small form factor networking appliance for use as a traffic filtering firewall and VPN gateway. The combined solution is optimal for a wide variety of tactical and expeditionary use cases requiring network protection and encryption of data-in-transit – including in classified networks protected by commercial solutions.

“PacStar and Cisco technologies are widely deployed and fielded by the US military, and now the combination of these two products can be used in solutions with extensive certification requirements,” said Peggy Miller, chief executive officer, PacStar. “We are thrilled to offer this high-performance technology from Cisco, because it enables us to offer high speed wireless solutions for classified networks, for a wide range of use cases, while meeting the needs of the tactical communicator.”

“Adding Cisco ASAv to PacStar’s family of rugged networking and cybersecurity solution extends our already robust suite of products based on Cisco technology,” adds Charlie Kawasaki, chief technical officer, PacStar. “The combined technologies are available in full-rate production, and are already undergoing fielding by US DoD customers.”

PacStar will conduct live demonstrations of the product in booth (#701) at AFCEA West 2019.

PacStar 351, 451, 455 and 551 with Cisco ASAv v9.6 are eligible to be used as Stateful Traffic Filter Firewall and VPN Gateway components in a CSfC solution. More information can be found at www.nsa.gov.
