Portland, OR – Oct 9, 2018 – PacStar, a leading developer and supplier of advanced communications solutions for commercial, industrial, defense and intelligence markets, today announced its selection to provide the tactical network baseband solution for the initial six U.S. Army Security Forces Assistance Brigades (SFAB). The cumulative estimated value of the contract to PacStar will total in excess of $20 million.

The U.S. Army SFABs are specialized tactical units with the core mission to conduct training, advising, assisting, enabling and accompanying operations with allied and partner nations. Under this contract, PacStar solutions will provide vital access for the deployed SFABs to the Army’s tactical communications network for mission command, fielding and training efforts over the next three years.

“PacStar’s innovative solutions are widely deployed in U.S. DoD programs and across coalition forces to bring the benefits of industry-leading Size, Weight and Power (SWaP) reduction to tactical communications,” said Peggy Miller, chief executive officer, PacStar. “The U.S. Army’s selection of PacStar for SFAB further validates the leading-edge design of our systems, while building on our PacStar 400-Series selection for major communications programs such as U.S. Army Transportable Tactical Command Communications (T2C2) and U.S. Marines Networking on the Move (NOTM).”

PacStar’s baseband system consists of its patented and field-proven PacStar 400-Series small form factor (SFF) tactical and deployable communications modules and includes a variety of networking, computing, storage and wireless solutions. The modules are designed, extensively tested and certified as meeting numerous MIL-STD environmental specifications even while operating, so that warfighters can be assured of reliable mission-critical communications.
