PacStar Expands Support For US Marine Corps With $10.7 Million Networking On-The-Move (NOTM) Contract

Contract extends deployment of PacStar on-the-move networking and communications products across ground tactical vehicles

PORTLAND, Ore., November 29, 2017 – PacStar®, a leading developer and supplier of advanced communications solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), has been awarded a $10.7 million contract by the US Marine Corps Networking On-The-Move (NOTM) program to provide PacStar 400-Series products that enhance warfighter networking and communications capabilities while on-the-move.

The new contract follows a separate $10 million US Marine Corps award announced in September, extending deployment of PacStar networking on-the-move solutions across ground tactical vehicles. PacStar 400-Series modules include secure, enterprise-class networking and cybersecurity capabilities from Cisco®, designed and engineered by PacStar into modules ideal for both vehicle-mounted and command post use.

“Networking on-the-move capabilities are increasingly critical to today’s warfighter,” said Peggy Miller, chief executive officer for PacStar. “Through our continued support for the U.S. Marine Corps, the PacStar 400-Series equipment will be installed into a wide array of existing and future tactical ground vehicles to provide warfighters with modularity and reliability to communicate on-the-move.”

PacStar’s modular system brings the benefits of industry-leading Size, Weight and Power (SWaP) reduction to communications on NOTM program tactical ground vehicles, while providing modularity and reliability in harsh environmental conditions. NOTM will continue to install PacStar 400-Series equipment into existing tactical ground vehicles including MRAP-ATV, HMMWV, and Amphibious Assault Vehicles. Over time, the modules will be installed on newly built ground vehicles.

The PacStar solution was selected through a competitive procurement process in which a number of other solutions were evaluated as well. PacStar 400-Series products are widely deployed in DoD programs, and include a variety of modules for networking, computing, storage and wireless.
