Microprocessor, FPGA and Analog Design
Custom Processing and Performance Architecture
Peerless Instrument provides state-of-the-art electronic sub-assemblies, systems and software to the U.S. military. Peerless systems are used in Navy propulsion systems for both submarines and aircraft carriers. Peerless also designs and manufactures advanced valve controllers and predictive maintenance systems for the process industry.
FPGA Design
- Peerless performs both RAM-based (Xilinx) and non-RAM-based (Actel) FPGA design. Behavioral and timing simulation is performed with the ModelSim tool (Mentor Graphics) for design verification and accelerated product development.
Analog Design
- Multiple channel instrumentation circuit board inputs are processed by A/D converters. Typical applications include Speed Sensor interface, Resistance Temperature interface, Linear Variable Differential Transformer interface, Digital Input/Output filtering and conditioning, etc.
Microprocessor DSP Design
- Analog signals are converted and digitally sampled, then processed by Digital Signal Processors (Texas Instruments) and Microprocessors (TI, NXP, PowerPC).
VHDL (VHSIC Hardware Description Language) Design
- Peerless utilizes VHDL design language to implement all FPGA designs.
